Marketing Automation on Social Networks

Social networks are important to increase the dissemination of our content, increase traffic to our website and indirectly get more links. We will now see how we can automate parts of our marketing on social networks.

– One of the main elements of social media marketing is the interaction with our target audience. The automation of certain activities on the networks must be understood as a complement, not a substitute for our business interaction.

– We should note that much automation and minimal presence on social networks we will not get any results. In other words, one of the keys to successful automation is to have minimum audience and previous quality.

– We must use common sense and the rules of social networks to limit automation, since otherwise it can be counterproductive and some networks can even ban our social accounts.

– You should keep trying various degrees of automation, while respecting the above, to see which ones offer the best results. We will use monitoring tools such as Google Analytics, to see the results (increased traffic, conversions …).

– There are many automation tools, we advise Socialoomph. Besides being very flexible, it offers a free version. This is the tool we will use to illustrate this task.

1 – Once you have created your own Socialoomph account , the first step is to connect accounts from different social networks.

We go to the following menu:

conectar-cuenta-socialThen we see that we can choose various types of social networks:

You should add the accounts where you want to automate your business.

2 – The next step is to create a “Queue Reservoir”, as this will create a list of messages that are disseminated in an automated fashion on our social networks. Select the following menu:

queue-reservoirsWe can then create our first “Queue Reservoir”.

add-queue-reservoirThese are the most relevant options:

– Name of the Queue and publishing frequency (We recommend creating separate queues for each social network, since for example we can decide to post 7 or 8 times a day on Twitter, while only 2 or 3 times on Facebook).

– The social accounts into which to disseminate messages.

– If we republish the messages, which were already published, these are the bottom of the list to be published again in the future.

– Date and time of publication.

3 – We will now “fill” our queue. To do this, we will go to the following menu:

create-new-updateWe can choose between text and / or images:

These are the relevant fields to consider:

Obviously you should automate the text posts (and where appropriate, the images). We strongly recommend  that commercial messages are not always used, otherwise we will have counterproductive results. A good strategy is to combine 1 or 2 commercial messages with every 10 “educational” messages (such as posts related to our blog).

We will use the option “Do not schedule, just add this update to my queue reservoir” and then add the queues where the message is incorporated.

4 – The last step in our automation strategy is to automatically add “feeds” of our blog to the queues. We can distinguish two kinds of feeds:

– Feeds from your own blogs. Thus when we publish new posts, those will automatically be added to your queue and its dissemination is automated.

– Feeds from other blogs. An original way to encourage interaction with “influencers” is to share their contents. Not only does this get quality content to our fans, but it will attract the attention of those influencers, and it will facilitate subsequent interaction with them. It is important that in this case these people know about the sharing. For example, with messages published via Twitter use @thenameoftheinfluencer, in order to make sure they find out of our business.

We select the following menu:

These are the main options to consider:

– Feed name (for internal use).

– Feed address (URL where the feed is updated).

– Accounts into which to disseminate updates.

– How often do you want to update the accounts.

– You should include a link to the original post.

– It is advisable to shorten URLs, for example, not to exceed the maximum characters on Twitter.

Choose the option to use only the post title
